Key Responsibilities- Interpret drawings, specs, or sketches to determine job scope
- Calculate costs for steel, welding time, consumables, and equipment
- Create quotes and submit to customers for review or approval
- Revise quotes based on customer changes or updates
- Track open quotes, follow up, and log successful conversions
- Work closely with the CAD Designer and Shop Supervisor for real-world pricing input
- Adjust pricing based on market steel fluctuations and lead times
Qualifications & Skills- 2+ years of estimating or fabrication shop experience preferred
- Good math and pricing judgment
- Ability to visualize 3D projects from 2D drawings or customer photos
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with standard materials and fabrication methods
Work Environment- Office-based with frequent coordination with shop floor
- Involves reviewing drawings and consulting with builders and customers
- May include occasional site visits or field job walk-throughs
