Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication blueprints
- Layout and fit heavy components for welding and final assembly
- Mark, measure, and prep metal materials with extreme precision
- Use grinders, clamps, and torches to align parts for final weld
- Coordinate with welders to prep and inspect for tolerance accuracy
- Maintain work area cleanliness and shop tool accountability
- Communicate with leadership on any discrepancies or material needs
- Ensure projects meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Adhere to all safety policies and wear proper PPE
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of metal fitting or fabrication experience required
- Excellent blueprint and measurement skills
- Experience with layout tools, squares, angle finders, grinders
- Strong math, layout, and mechanical problem-solving ability
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet in a shop environment
- Precision-focused and committed to producing high-quality work
- Team player with good communication and dependability
Work Environment- Indoor fabrication shop focused on agricultural and commercial equipment
- Exposure to sparks, heavy material, noise, and frequent lifting
- Required PPE includes gloves, hearing, and eye protection
