Job Type: Part-Time (Weekends only - subject to change)
Salary: $20–$26/hour – Based on experience

Requirements

Mannon Metal Works LLC is hiring a skilled Plasma Table Operator to run our CNC plasma cutting system. This role is responsible for interpreting cut files, loading metal plate, and ensuring precise cuts for weldments, buckets, implements, and custom parts. Ideal candidates have experience with CNC interfaces, torch setup, and safe sheet metal handling.

Career Progression
Welder Helper ($16 - $18/hr)
          Assists welders with preparation, material handling, and maintenance tasks.
Welder ($19 - $23/hr)
          Performs welding tasks on various equipment, ensuring quality and safety.
Field Welder ($24 - $28/hr)
          Conducts on-site welding, often in varying conditions, requiring adaptability.
Fitter Apprentice ($22 - $26/hr)
          Learns to assemble and fit structural components under supervision. 
Fitter ($27 - $32/hr)
          Expert in assembling and fitting components, ensuring precision and quality.

Leadership & Advanced Roles
Lead Welder / Senior Fitter ($32 - $38/hr)
          Oversees welding and fitting projects, mentors junior staff, and ensures standards.
Shop Supervisor / Foreman ($38 - $45/hr)
          Manages shop operations, coordinates projects, and leads teams to meet objectives.

     2. AWS D1.3 Sheet Metal Welding Certification
          Ideal for welding thinner sheet metal used in various industries.
     3. AWS D17.1 Aerospace Welding Certification
          Covers precision welding of aluminum and stainless steel.
     4. ASME Section IX Pipe Welding Certification
          Certification for high-pressure pipe welding, required for industrial and manufacturing work.
     5. OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 Safety Certification

Eligibility for Certification Assistance
     • Must be employed with Mannon Metal Works for at least 6 months.
     • Must demonstrate proficiency in welding techniques related to the certification.
     • Must commit to remaining with the company for at least one year after receiving certification.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload metal plate onto the plasma table using shop crane or forklift
  • Read cut files, nest parts efficiently, and input programs into CNC software
  • Monitor cuts for quality, kerf width, edge finish, and dross levels
  • Deburr, sort, label, and organize cut parts for downstream operations
  • Collaborate with Parts Prep and Fitters to prioritize projects
  • Perform regular maintenance on plasma torch, slats, filters, and air system
  • Troubleshoot pierce/start failures, arc errors, and material inconsistencies
  • Safely operate grinding and cleaning tools on cut edges
  • Keep table area clean, stocked, and ready for the next job
  • Assist in pulling raw plate stock from racks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
  • 1+ years of experience operating a CNC plasma table or oxy-fuel system
  • Familiarity with metal types, plate thickness, and heat settings
  • Understanding of G-code/CAM software is a plus
  • Comfortable reading fabrication drawings and cut lists
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
  • Attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Physically able to lift and position large metal sheets
  • Team player who communicates well with shop leads and fabricators
Work Environment
Indoor fabrication shop with exposure to hot metal, noise, and cutting smoke
  • Requires lifting 50+ lbs, reaching over tables, and operating heavy equipment
  • PPE required: gloves, eye protection, steel toes, and hearing protection
  • Fast-paced environment tied directly to production flow
